MSU UOE Accessibility Training Survey

In the summer of 2017, MSU UARC conducted an Accessibility Training survey with the personnel of University Outreach and Engagement, a major administrative unit of Michigan State University. The goal of this survey was to understand the state of accessibility awareness, knowledge, and training completed across the personnel of UOE.

The results of this survey were analyzed by role (faculty, staff, or interns) and across overall respondents to understand how training needs may vary across different roles and determine considerations for planning for accessibility training. The survey included questions asking participants about:

  • the types of documents or content they typically create as part of their job,
  • their level of expertise with different types of technology (question from MSU Internet and Technology User Experience Survey),
  • their confidence levels for creating accessible documents,
  • accessibility training they had completed,
  • and what is required by MSU's web accessibility policy.
