Valuing Web Usability & Accessibility
A Colloquium on Standards, Tools, and Testing
A colloquium was held May 5, 2003, with a panel of noted speakers from higher education, government, and the corporate world to discuss issues related to emerging technologies and tools at the intersection of usability and accessibility. The conversation covered user-centered Web and information systems design, user testing models, practical applications of tools across all age spectrums and for those with disabilities, governmental regulations, and Web standards
The program was introduced by Hiram E. Fitzgerald, MSU Assistant Provost for University Outreach & Engagement and University Distinguished Professor of Psychology and opened with remarks by Lou Anna K. Simon, MSU Interim President and Provost. The program concluded with a question and answer session between the audience and panelists. Panelists Michael Paciello, Chauncey Wilson, Mary Francis Theofanos, Tom Tullis, and John Eulenberg gave multimedia presentations.
